In the fall and winter of 1995 Lance and Donna traveled slowly through Israel, India, and Nepal enjoying the different musical flavors each of these countries have to offer. Upon their return to Nashville, Lance "holed up" in the studio of their freind Brad Smith and recorded relentlessly for one solid week stopping only when Donna forced him to sleep or eat. He was truly driven.

This is the collection of instrumental compositions inspired by those travels, "It ain't blues" ... but many people find it surprisingly refreshing. Lance plays a huge variety of instruments from sitar to guitar, from sruti box to violin and synthesizers. Donna joins in on the beginning piece "Edna's Garden" with rainstick and multi timbral omming helping to create a peaceful ambience.

Music Notes
By Jim Ridley

Murfreesboro multi-instrumentalist Lance Harrison has played the street corners of the world, from Guatemala to Austria to Israel and India, and the results of his journeys can be found on Travels in Sound, a collection of songs written by Harrison over the course of his many journeys. Harrison played all the instruments except for the rainstick, which his wife Donna handled; the instrumental music has an Indian/Middle Eastern flavor, especially on such tracks as "Edna’s Garden" and Jerusalem." If you like herbal tea, you need this record in your life. The record is available at Tower.
